Definition and Classification

Yesterday I learnt about Definition and classification. Sometimes I didn’t understand why some word was not be the definition and couldn’t find the definition. I think they were difficult for me but I want to read and practice more and more.

Cause and Effect

Today I learnt about cause and effect.

- A cause is WHY something happens.     

- An effect is WHAT happens. 

- As you read be a detective.  Look for clue words, such as if,  then, because, since, and so.

We read the text and completed the diagram. And then make the exercises.

I think Cause and Effect are looked the same. It made me confuse about the meaning of them. 

Comparison or Contrast

Yesterday we learned about the Comparison or Contrast continued the last week.

“The Comparison or Contrast essay is an essay in which you either compare something or contrast something. A comparison essay is an essay in which you emphasize the similarities, and a contrast essay is an essay in which you emphasize the differences. We use comparison and contrast thinking when deciding which university to attend, which smartphone to buy, or whether to vacation at home or abroad.”

That day the university had the Open House NPRU, the teachers told us to joined and wrote about it in this blog. I walked around the fair and looked many boots. There are several boots from many programs. I went to the boots from Hotel and Tourist first and tried some sweet, they was tasteful. Then, I went sightseeing in other boots. All boots was good and very interesting for me.

Midterm Test

Today I have a midterm test. I thought the test is difficult for me because there have a lot of vocabularies and I don’t understand some text. I couldn't do it well.

After finished the midterm test, we learned another lesson and looked the presentation from my friends.

Today I tried to do everything because I was sick. 

Procedure

Today I learned about procedure. The procedure is how to make something such as how to make food etc.

I very enjoin about that because this is easy and interesting.

The Teacher showed the video about how to make food such as banana shake, banana cake, omelette, and chicken soup. So we were hungry and wanted to have lunch. 

And then teacher ordered me to divide groups, have 2 people in one group for presentation about how to make food in next class.  

Descriptive

Today we learnt about descriptive text. This morning we had a makeup class again. I thought I had go to attend class every day, It so tired for me.

Descriptive text giving information about how something or someone looks, size, sounds, etc.

I studied the description of anything such as Komodo Dragon, Budapest and Prague. When I read finished, teacher ordered me to write the mapping from this story. I read the other stories and answered the questions. 

I Like the descriptive because it have a lot of knowledge and very interesting for read.

However some words could make me hard to understand.

The Secret

Today I learned about Narratives “Secret”. This story was difficult for me because it made me confused about the vocabularies. I though this story told about the family problem. I can sum up into part 1 and part 2.

Part 1

Kylie feels left out from her mother and Philip's activities. She became interested in the chicken in the yard. Somehow her secret helps her to feel less lonely. She find the second egg and then finds out where others are being laid by unhealthy-looking hen.  Philip had shown the galvanized tin cover of  the bore well,and it was very dangerous. Kylie was forbidden to lift the lid. One day he sat with photo album,turning page and looking across every now and then. There was not one of her father because he had been the photographer.

Part 2

Two weeks passed. She visited the scraggy,with hen everyday. It was an important secret then. Someday she broke Philip's words. She clumped down to the bottom of the well.  She went down to the well with photo album to flick through the album. Why her father and mother didn't leave together with her. It was something she was not allowed to know. One of the picture in her album made her confident. It made her think Philip and her mother were stupid. It stopped her from feeling lonely. On a Sunday afternoon,Philip caught her down the well. He dragged her out and hit her.As a result of Philip's violence,she got angry.So she dropped the chickens down the well and threw the hen in the well too.She slumped down on the lid and began to cry. Before bed,She took 

her photograph and cut off her head and poke it through a hole in the fly screen of the window.

My opinion to the characters in the story.

I disapprove of Kylie: She think in a negative way and doesn't open her mind to her new family.

I disapprove of Kylie's mother: She loved her new husband more than her daughter. I think she should be interested and care of her daughter more than she did.

I disapprove of Philip: He hit Kylie, It was violent for her.

In my opinion

I dislike Kylie's mother because she didn't take care her daughter and interested new husband more than her daughter. I disapprove of Phillip because he hit Kylie, It was violent for her.
